Fiona works in batik on silk and oil on canvas, creating paintings of the Donegal landscape. Her specialty lies in batik painting on silk, a technique that allows her to achieve remarkable detail and vibrancy. "I specialize in batik painting on silk. I prefer to use silk as a medium since the wax flows straight through the fabric when painted on with a brush; this makes it possible to include fine details. I also use a brush to paint on the dyes, which allows" for precise control over color and texture.

Her work is inspired by the beautiful scenery of Donegal. In landscapes, seascapes and trees, she captures the ever-changing light and colour of the shifting seasons and unpredictable weather. Fiona's own work is inspired by the beautiful scenery of the northwest of Ireland, particularly the Gaeltacht on the west coast of Donegal where she has always spent a part of her summer, ever since she was a child.
